are now set up for the best month of the year to chase Ontario chrome!!
BRING IT ON!!
Well, the last couple of weeks sure proved a couple things, one, when they are ready to come in they will regardless of the water levels and two, they will go a long ways up a systme in very little water. With the recent rains and the storm coming up the east coast, things are now set up for the best month of the year to chase Ontario chrome!! BRING IT ON!! Well there is still no water here along Ontario's West Coast but that hasn't stopped the salmon and a few steelhead from still making their way up the Maitland. That said I havent seen anything above Benmiller Falls yet, water is literally too low for them to go over. All said though, forecast looks great this week with 30-50mm forecasted, unfortunately that will only be a start and we will need more after that to actually get enough flow to make any decent fishing. A good number of fish being caught on the lower end and pleasantly surprised with the amount of coho being caught. They are very fun on a fly! With season about to start I plan to blog weekly through the fall so stay tuned for upd Another great spey clave.....actually probably the best one too date! It was two days long, with fantastic weather, and you had the oppertunity to cast almost any spey rod made today with almost any spey line made today.....what more could someone ask for!
