Plain and simple, Mike's true passion is pursueing steelhead with spey gear and there is no doubt that the Maitland River and Saugeen River offer some of the best swinging water found along the great lakes. Whether your are just entering your addiction with spey or have been swinging with a two hander for years a day on the river with Mike is a day you will definately appreciate. These two rivers have a very strong native population of wild steelhead that will readily take a swung fly. The best times of year to visit Ontario's West Coast to pursue these chrome gems would be from mid March through to the end of May and again in the fall from early October through to the end of December. FlyFitters also offers the use of a full set of Gloomis spey rods that are perfectly matched with Scientific Anglers spey lines!
